DigitalAnarchy Primatte v3.0 Plugin for Adobe Photoshop

DigitalAnarchy Primatte v3.0 Plugin for Adobe Photoshop

Primatte's chromakey technology has been used for over a decade to create special effects for film and TV. Now this powerful tool is in the hands of pro photographers and designers... like you!

New in 3.0: AutoMask tool.
The big new feature in version 3.0 is AutoMask. This feature makes the batch function much more usable, as we now can automatically key out a wider range of image types.
Run a Batch Action in Photoshop and select a folder full of images and you should end up with a folder full of background-less images. If you?re doing school or event photography AutoMask may change your world.

The power of Primatte.
:: Primatte 3.0 is a powerful chromakey compositing plugin for Photoshop. Primatte takes a foreground image of any resolution, shot against a single color, and replaces that color with transparent pixels.
:: Primatte creates a very complex soft-edged mask. This gives you the flexibility to add in any custom background your client wants to see... after the photo shoot.

Why use Primatte?
What are the uses of Primatte Chromakey? Unlimited. Use bluescreening for sophisticated catalog shots. Add exciting backgrounds to Little League photos. Surround an elementary school grade with the Star Trek Enterprise. Place a bride before a beautiful 3D-rendered landscape.

Powerful edge removal.
Primatte really shows its power when dealing with the soft edges of foreground objects, and in treating transparent or semi-transparent objects.
The plugin allows you to keep detail like wisps of hair, smoke, sheets of glass, water, and even the plastic umbrella shown at right. These details would be lost using conventional methods of keying.

Removes color spill.
The other function that distinguishes Primatte is its built-in spill removal ability. During a photoshoot, light bounces off the colored screen behind your subject. This often throws an color tint on the subject.
Primatte will remove that unwanted color, like the green spill on our model's blonde hair (below). We give you eight simple tools that work on either a wide or narrow range of tones.

Simple masking process.
Primatte's strength is its ease in creating masks around areas of detail that are typically difficult to retain. Wisps of hair, glass surface, smoke, and water. We keep 'em all for you.
The plugin uses sophisticated algorithms to extract the background color. These algorithms also color correct your subject, removing any color cast reflected from the background. Just added: One-click AutoMask tool.

How does Primatte work?
Primatte looks at a tone that you have clicked on, and finds that range of color throughout the entire image you've loaded in. Then Primatte run the correction it's built to do --like extracting a tone or eliminating a tone-- on the entire photograph.
More technically: The plugin separates color space using its patented 'Polyhedral Slicing Algorithm'. Then it blends edge objects transparently with blurred background pixels. This gives you the most sophisticated foreground/ background composite available.
